The Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) is a private, non-profit organization whose aim is to help survivors of politically-motivated torture. CVT described its mission this way:
The mission of the Center is to heal the wounds of government-inflicted torture on individuals, their families, and their communities and prevent its occurrence.
I offered simultaneous translation for meetings with social workers, physical therapists, doctors, psychologists, and, on occasion, government agencies.
